October 7 Press Brief

Robert Gibbs, the press secretary, answered questions at the October 7 Press Brief.

Gibbs started out by giving the president's travel schedule. At a point during this section he admitted that he had not looked at the president's schedule the day before. In the description of the travel schedule, he would discuss where the president was going, how long he would be there, why he was going there, and who he was going to speak to.

The way the press brief was going it seemed that the reporters were the ones who set the time frame, not Gibbs. The reason is because throughout the whole meeting the reporter's would say "according to the New York Times." So therefore the New York Times was actually setting the time frame, which they are reporters.

The reporters did not ask too many probing questions. There were a few questions that Gibbs did not want to answer so he would ignore the reporter. Most of the time the reporters asked questions that Gibbs did not mind to answer.
